Swedish, the most common type of massage therapy, is a gentle and relaxing type
of massage consisting of a variety of massage strokes such as effleurage
(stroking), petrissage (kneading), tapotment (percussion) friction,
and vibration applied with oil to the body for the following benefits:
Promotes general relaxation.
Improves circulation of the blood and
lymph system, thereby strengthening the immune system.
Increases flexibility and joint movement
- (range of motion).
Relieves muscle tension, relaxes muscle
spasm.
